Hull KR (4) 22 Tries: Dobson (2), Chester, Gene Goals: Cooke (3)
Harlequins (8) 8 Tries: Worrincy, Grayshon
Debutant Michael Dobson scored two tries on his debut to help Hull KR come from behind and beat Harlequins. Michael Worrincy put Quins ahead but Australian Dobson, 21, levelled the scores when he beat a couple of defenders for an unconverted try. Jon Grayshon gave Quins an 8-4 lead at half-time after Jake Webster was sin-binned but Chris Chester and Stanley Gene put Rovers 16-8 ahead. And Dobson's second try, converted by Paul Cooke, sealed the home side's win. Dobson joined Rovers from Canberra Raiders having had previous spells with Wigan and Catalan Dragons. And he helped his new side overcome the early loss of Scott Murrell, who appeared to injure a shoulder in a sixth-minute tackle and went straight down the tunnel for treatment.
Hull KR coach Justin Morgan: "I thought we were very good in the second half when we had the elements against us. "We showed some grit and determination which was good. "I was disappointed we gave away some silly penalties in the first half when we had the wind advantage and I thought at times we looked a bit shaky defensively on the fringes." Harlequins boss Brian McDermott: "We had a good first half but in the second half Rovers stepped up a gear and we were poor. "Rovers were very good defensively. After they gave us two soft tries they tightened up and if the game had gone on another four days I don't think we would have scored any more tries. "We just did not have enough good field position and the home defence was sound. Jake Webster alone must have stopped three tries."
