Ainscough scored 17 times in 12 games for Wigan last season |
Bradford Bulls have signed young winger Shaun Ainscough from Wigan on a one-year deal. The 20-year-old has scored 27 tries in 28 games during his time at the Warriors and while on loan at Castleford and Widnes. "It's a fresh start for me and a big chance to impress," Ainscough said. "There are going to be some good signings coming in and I know [incoming Bulls coach] Mick Potter from his work with Saints." Ainscough made his first-team debut at Wigan against Castleford in February 2009 and marked the occasion with a try. | 606: DEBATE |
But after racing to the top of the try-scoring chart at the DW Stadium he picked up an injury while playing for the reserves. Bradford chairman Peter Hood said: "We are delighted to have captured Shaun. "He is a player with tremendous strength and pace and anyone who saw him last week in the Carnegie Floodlit 9s will have been impressed by his ability to score from anywhere on the field. "We feel he will quickly become a very valuable member of our squad for the 2011 season," he added.
