Shaun Ainscough has played for three different clubs this season |
Wigan Warriors winger Shaun Ainscough has rejoined Championship side Widnes on a dual registration deal. Ainscough, 20, scored four tries in three games for Widnes earlier in the season after signing along with Wigan team-mates Ben Davies and Liam Farrell. He was then loaned out to Castleford, where he ran in another four tries in seven appearances. But he was recalled by injury-hit Wigan to play in last weekend's shock 38-26 home defeat by struggling Harlequins. And he will now be able to play for both Wigan and Widnes for the rest of the season. "We are grateful that Shaun has the chance to re-join Widnes," said head coach Michael Maguire. "The deal worked well for both parties earlier in the season and we are pleased the opportunity is available again for Shaun to work under Paul Cullen and play Championship rugby league." Ainscough made his name this time last season when ran in 17 tries for Wigan last season, all of which came in one purple 11-match patch, before being ruled out by injury. Meanwhile, prop Davies has also agreed to stop on at Widnes, along with second row Farrell. But, under the terms of the dual registration deal, none of the three will be allowed to appear in the Challenge Cup fifth round tie against Wigan at Naughton Park on 8 May.
