Woods bemoans 'very ordinary' York City Knights display
Frustrated York City Knights coach Dave Woods labelled his side's display as "very ordinary" as they narrowly beat Championship One side Keighley 28-22.
As a result, the Knights finished sixth in pool A of the Northern Rail Cup.
Woods told BBC Radio York: "We haven't come out and played well. Discipline was poor, it's just not good enough."
Duane Straugheir and Jonny Presley both scored two tries. Keighley drew level while Ryan Esders was in the sin-bin but John Davies' late try won the game.
Woods was grateful for Davies' "nice little try," but lamented: "We've got to be smarter than that. We've got some big, strong players out wide and we're not using them.

"We trained really well on Thursday night offensively with ball in hand, and we didn't put that into practice today, perhaps because they were in our faces. They kept getting up really quick."
Woods felt referee Wayne Turley was too lenient on Keighley, adding: "They were offside all day."
As for Esders' indiscretion, lashing out at Chris Baines, Woods added: "Esders is an experienced player (and) it's not up to scratch, they scored two tries while he was off.
"Our communication in defence was great when we had (all 13) on the field but we just didn't help ourselves on the ball.
"There was an opportunity for blokes to take a jumper for the (Hunslet) game, and some of them didn't grab it."
The Knights now face the students of Northumbria University in the Challenge Cup next Sunday, before the serious campaign starts in the Championship.
"We've got some work to do this week. Next week we need to go out and put on a good performance."
