Jonathan Smith glanced Ashley Chambers' corner past Delroy Preddie to give the visitors the lead.

The hosts saw Bradley Pritchard foiled by Minsterman keeper Michael Ingham, but were level when Peter Holmes fired in from 20 yards.

But York grabbed the winner when Rankine headed home his 12th goal of the season from Will Hatfield's cross.
