Massey played five times for York in 2008 |
York City Knights have added two players from Super League Castleford Tigers to their squad for 2011. Prop forward Nathan Massey, 21, joins on dual registration after a previous spell on loan at York in 2008. Forward John Davies, 20, who has joined on a season-long loan, played one game last year for the Knights on a dual registration contract. Both players will be available for York's trip to Barrow in their opening game of the Northern Rail Cup. Massey earned a full time contract with Castleford in 2009 and had spells in the first team until injury disrupted his progress. He has since had time on loan at Gateshead and on a dual contract basis at Keighley, where he suffered an injury which ended his season. Massey was the Castleford Academy player of the year in 2007. Davies featured for York in their defeat at Doncaster last season in what was his only appearance for the club. He made his Super League debut for Castleford in 2010 against Catalans Dragons and previously won representative honours with England Schools and the Yorkshire Academy.
