Nixon scored 29 tries for The Raiders in 2009 |
Barrow Raiders have tied winger James Nixon to a new one-year deal for the 2011 Championship campaign. The 25-year-old missed much of the 2010 season with a broken arm, ran in 29 tries during the 2009 Championship Grand Final winning season. "I hope to get the all-clear to resume full contact work in a couple of weeks," Nixon told the club website of his fitness in the forthcoming months. "I have been doing quite a bit of training to keep myself in shape." Nixon's debut for Raiders came against Gateshead during the 2004 season, after joining the club from local amateur side Dalton. The three-quarter, who can also play in the centre, has won five Scotland caps under former Raiders boss Steve McCormack.
