Matt King (Warrington) Much was expected of the 28-year-old Australian centre/winger when he arrived at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on a big-money four-year deal last season. But he failed to live up to the high hopes in 2008 as the Wolves, who were tipped for honours, struggled for form and with injuries and in the process parted company with coach Paul Cullen. Last season King only showed brief glimpses of his undoubted talent and was forced to deny on a number of occasions that he was considering returning early to Australia and finished with just 11 tries for the season. Maybe this year will show why the one-time binman is rated by some as one of the best players in the world or whether he is destined to become one of Super League's biggest-ever disappointments.
