Point to Prove - Simon Finnigan
Simon Finnigan

Simon Finnigan (Huddersfield)

One of the stars of Ireland's World Cup campaign finds himself at a new club after a disappointing season at Bradford Bulls.

At the Bulls the second-rower scored seven tries and in 2007 at Salford was fourth in the Super League's top tacklers table.

However, his finest hour was probably at last year's World Cup in Australia when he started all three Ireland games at loose forward and his try helped Andy Kelly's side's famously beat Samoa.

Finnigan is one of a number of new signings for new coach Nathan Brown along with Brett Hodgson, Michael Korkidas and Scott Moore and his Super League experience could prove crucial.

He marked his Giants debut with a try in their pre-season friendly against Castleford and crossed the whitewash again against Bradford to show he is coming into the season in good form.
