Point to Prove: Nick Scruton

Nick Scruton (Bradford)

The 24-year-old England international moved from Leeds to Bradford at the end of last season after helping the Rhinos defeat rivals St Helens in the Grand Final.

One of four close-season signings by coach Steve McNamara, the prop-forward is set to start the season with Andy Lynch sidelined after a neck operation

Scruton has recovered from a broken wrist sustained at the end of last season which kept him out of part of the pre-season campaign but he is back to full fitness and McNamara has been impressed with his work.

After signing for Leeds when he was just 16 and making around 100 appearances, Scruton admitted he had some sleepless nights before making the decision to leave Headingley for Odsal.

Scruton has linked up with good friend Sam Burgess and the pair will be hoping to lead the Bulls to honours this season.
