Kristina Neves has set a new record at the Guernsey Swimming Club's 100m Series Championships. Neves, who has already set records in the backstroke, butterfly and individual medley, returned to set a new best time for the breaststroke. The 14-year-old completed the 100m in a time of one minute, 17.53 seconds, eclipsing the previous record time by more than a second. In the freestyle event, Neves matched her 2010 best time of 59.74 seconds. The 100m freestyle remains one of the few Guernsey records to elude the teenager, who is still half a second outside the longstanding best, which was set by Cate Jackson in 1982. Elsewhere at the Championships, Ben Lowndes continued his impressive form with wins in the over-16 breaststroke and freestyle events. Isabelle Walker, Aimee Bran and Annabelle Goubert claimed first places in their age groups, with Luke Winstanley, William Russell and Callum Penney dominating the boys categories.
