Guernsey's Chris Simpson has reached the second round of the British National Squash Championships. The Sarnian, now ranked 45 in the world, comfortably beat Wales' Gareth Owen 3-1. Simpson took the first two games 11-6 11-7, but was pegged back in the third, losing it 11-9. An 11-6 win in the fourth game booked Simpson's place in Wednesday's second round, where he will now meet Yorkshire's Laurence Delasaux. Delasaux beat Merseyside's Stephen Siveter 3-2 in his first round tie.
