Desperques won without dropping a frame |
Martyn Desperques beat Jersey champion Gary Britton 4-0 in 80 minutes to win the Channel Island Snooker title at the Ex-Servicemen's Club. The Guernsey champion took the first with a break of 53 and the next two on black and pink respectively, to lead 3-0 going into the interval. Britton conceded the fourth when needing snookers. The players were equal on safety play but the Jerseyman could not live with the home player's potting on the night. Despite the pair holding six previous CI titles between them, it was the first time that Desperques and Britton had met on the snooker table.
