Martyn Desperques has won the Guernsey Snooker Championship, defeating Adam Shorto 4-2 in Monday's final. Desperques reclaimed the title he last won in 2007, in what was the fifth successive year that the two men have met in the final. The match was tied 2-2 at the interval, but Desperques made the stronger return to the table to seal the match in the sixth frame. He will now face Jersey's Gary Britten in the Channel Island Championship. Shorto and Desperques both feature in the island side that will take on Jersey in the Snooker Inter-insular alongside John Skillett, Glenn Le Prevost and Adrian Lihou. The match takes place at the Jersey Mechanics Institute on Saturday 25 April at 1900 with Guernsey looking to reduce the 38-22 lead that Jersey currently holds.
