Hala spent most of his career with Slovak Extraleague side Dukla Trencin |
Guildford Flames have signed former Slovakian international Miroslav Hala as a goaltender for the 2010/11 season. The 31-year-old has represented the Slovak national side 10 times and spent last season with Liptovsky Mikulas and Zilina in his homeland. Flames head coach Paul Dixon said: "We are looking forward to his arrival and slotting him into our goalkeeping pair. "His track record speaks for itself. There is no question in our minds of the quality player we are getting." Dixon added: "He has experience in cross European competition as well as international exposure with Team Slovakia. "We believe that we have gone beyond our original expectations for what we had hoped to achieve in our search. "When you commit a foreign roster spot to the post it makes the decision that much more important to get right."
