Guildford Flames celebrate a second Cup in five years |
Player coach Paul Dixon wants more silverware after the Guildford Flames won their first trophy of the season. The Flames beat Milton Keynes 10-4 over two legs to secure the Premier Cup for the first time since 2006. It is the Flames' 12th title in their history, and the second in three years for Dixon. He told BBC Surrey: "Now for the play-offs. "We've always got a hunger for trophies, especially after winning nothing last year." Dixon has personally won eight trophies in 11 years with the Flames, and admits it is extra special to do it as the player coach. "Nothing in sports beats winning and sharing it with your team-mates, so it is definitely one of those special moments in a player's career that we will savour before getting back to business and looking ahead to taking a run at adding the play-off championship over the next three weeks or so."
