Savage has experience with Team GB at U16, U18 and U20 levels |
Guildford Flames have signed defenceman David Savage for 2010/11 despite an injury-affected 2009/10 season. Head coach Paul Dixon said: "This was probably David's most difficult season. The surgery and rehabilitation was as much a mental as physical challenge. "Although frustrating for both David and the club while it is all happening, in many ways at his young age it is a good experience to have now had." The juniors graduate played his first senior game in the 2004-2005 season. At that time, he was still enrolled with the club's development programme. He has made 276 starts while netting 62 goals and 125 points during his career with the Flames. Dixon added: "David played very well during the tail end of the season and had a great play-off run, looking more and more like the natural talent that he is."
