East Grinstead win hockey quadruple with outdoor win
East Grinstead Hockey Club is celebrating after the men's team retained the sport's domestic treble and completed a quadruple.
On Monday they sealed consecutive National Outdoor titles by beating Beeston 5-3 in extra time.
First team manager Matt Jones told BBC Sussex: "Our aim was to retain our titles at the start of the year.
"Once you win a title, you become the ones everybody wants to beat. That creates an inner belief."
He added: "Because we've got a long pedigree in indoor and outdoor we need to fulfil that and back up our pedigree."
Earlier this season, East Grinstead secured back-to-back National Indoor League and National Indoor play-off titles as well as winning the European Indoor Trophy for the first time.
"The National Outdoor title is the pinnacle - it takes pride of place in the clubhouse," Jones said.
"We've got a great sporting and family ethos at the club and we're going places. The hunger is there to want to achieve more and be a dominant force."
