Sheffield Steelers avenged their 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Belfast Giants on Saturday night with a 4-3 win on their home patch on Sunday evening. Jonathan Zion put the Steelers ahead but Jeff Szwez equalised for the Giants before Kevin Balibruk nudged Sheffield in front once again. Jeff Szwez replied but Jeff Legue made it 3-2 to the Steelers. Doug Sheppard extended the home side's advantage before Pierre-Luc Faubert scored a consolation goal. On Saturday night, Joe Talbot gave the home side the lead but Colin Shields, Pat Bateman and Luc-Faubert, with a goal in the dying seconds, replied for the Giants. Steve Thornton's side had beaten Hull Stingrays at the Odyssey Arena on Thursday night.
