Nottingham Panthers have signed defenceman Dominic D'Amour from the Florida Everblades. The French-Canadian has played 112 games in the American Hockey League and was drafted to the NHL by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round of 2002. Panthers coach Corey Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "He's big, he's strong, he's physical, he can fight, and he has a really really heavy shot. "He's a left-handed shot which is what we wanted and he ticks a lot of boxes." The six ft three ins blueliner played with Neilson in Pensacola in 2004/05, and then with Panthers centre Bruce Richardson at Wichita in 2007/08. Neilson added: "I think he's a key improvement and he does a lot of things. He has the mean factor that we like back on the blue line. "The fact that Bruce and I both know him means we both feel really comfortable with him and I think he'll fit into the squad well."
