Meyers was made captain by coach Corey Neilson in 2008
Nottingham Panthers have re-signed their captain Danny Meyers for a fourth year at the National Ice Centre.
The British defenceman led out the team for the first time last season after being appointed by coach Corey Neilson.
Meyers told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The fact I am coming back as captain means the world to me. It's never lost on me the meaning of wearing that 'C'.
"Coming back as captain for my second year in a row is a huge, huge honour for me."
Meyers won the play-offs and the Challenge Cup in his first two years at the club, and last season led Panthers to the final of the play-offs before losing to Sheffield.
Neilson added: "Danny complemented the input from myself and Bruce Richardson in the room.
"He said the right things at the right time and played a big part in making last season an exciting one for the club and the fans.
"I've made no secret of the fact that I wanted to bring a core of players from last year's roster back and Danny's was one of the first names on my list."
