Top Level wins narrowly to give Corson and jockey Mark Lawson a double |
The first day of the Channel Island racing season saw new trainer Angie Corson win two of the five races on the card at Les Landes. Her first success came with Toggle, only her second runner, in the On Course Bookmakers Handicap. She followed that with victory in the Channel Islands Racing and Hunt Club Handicap with Top Level. The double win equals the performance of the more established Jersey trainer Alyson Malzard, Corson, a well known participant in the Jersey equestrian scene, started the season with just four horses in training, making the feat even more remarkable. "I can't believe it, it's a dream come true, " she told BBC Jersey. "Let's hope we can go on and have a few more this season." Her next chance at Les Landes will be at the meeting on Sunday, 16 May with the first race scheduled for 1430 BST.
