The West's Awake romped home to victory to win the Jersey Derby at Les Landes.

Trained by Alison Malzard and jockeyed by Adam Jones, The West's Awake beat Koka Fast, with the 15-8 favourite Danehill Dazzler in third.

The Animal Health Trust Handicap was won by Highland Flight. The 5-1 winner was the equally best-priced horse of the meet.

Tanikos was the other 5-1 outsider, winning the St Ouen Handicap.

Malzard and Jones were the top trainers with three wins from five races.

Irish horse Catcando came first in the Les Landes Handicap, the fourth of Sunday's races.

The Europa Intermediate Hurdle, a two-mile race, saw the 1-2 favourite Khuzdar cross the winning post in first place.
