David Weir won silver and bronze in Athens in 2004 and has since become Britain's top wheelchair racer. The 29-year-old from Surrey excels on the road and track. He won his third London Marathon in a row this year and grabbed three golds and a silver at the 2006 Paralympic World Championships in Assen. He also has experience of the Bird's Nest Stadium after winning a 5000m race in a test event earlier this year. Weir has superb chances in the 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5,000m and marathon, but will have to deal with Aussie Kurt Fearnley. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites |
