Tom Skillicorn stormed to victory in the opening round of the Manx Mountain Bike Club's downhill series held at the brand new Colden Plantation course.

Skillicorn flew down the technically challenging track to beat closest rival Ashley Collinge by just over one second with Bryan Ravenshear third.

Gareth Fargher won the Master Class after narrowly edging out Russell Sansom on his second run.

Fargher's second run placed him fourth overall with Sansom fifth.

Meanwhile, Mark Turner picked up where he left off last season to claim victory in the Junior Class.

Turner made light work of the numerous jumps and obstacles to again show his huge potential and post the sixth quickest time on the day.

Matthew Read also had an impressive first outing to finish just five seconds behind Turner.
