Philip Touzeau sprints to win Vazon road race

Touzeau finished just seconds ahead of the rest of the field

Philip Touzeau sprinted to victory in division one of the Guernsey Velo Club's first road race of the season around four laps of the Vazon circuit.

Touzeau won the 44 mile race on Sunday ahead of Paul Brehaut and Leon Ogier, with the remaining riders coming in a few seconds adrift.

Junior Alex Wilson won the three lap race in division two, beating Chris Le Page and Damien Appleton to the line.

Wilson was the favourite, having won every race so far this season.

Division three was a close affair until the final sprint to the line which was taken by Kerin Sargent ahead of Gary Wallbridge.

There was another close finish in division four, which was won by Adrian Pickering.

Michael Mann won the time trial over one lap for under-16 riders.
