Ty Thomas was relieved to have his hands on the inter-insular trophy |
Jersey's men narrowly regained the inter-insular from Guernsey with a 112-108 win at Grainville. Each island won three of the six rinks and there were never more than a few shots between them all afternoon. The Open Triples was even closer with Jersey coming back from 18-15 down to sneak it 19-18 at the final end. Guernsey won the ladies inter-insular 99-86 with the other titles being evenly shared between the islands. President of the Jersey Indoor Bowling Association Ty Thomas said: We've been without this cup for two years now. "With Guernsey winning the last two, and it's such a great relief to have it back on the island." "It's so hard fought for, and it means a lot to the boys," he added. Jersey's Malcolm de Sousa was the busiest player over the weekend - he played the rinks for a total of 17 hours.
