Guernsey took both A team matches, but lost both B team games

Guernsey's volleyball teams took two of the four matches against Jersey in this the 2010 inter-insular on Saturday.

The Guernsey men's and women's A sides won their matches 3-0, but the B sides went down by the same scoreline.

Guernsey were delighted by the results on home turf after losing all four matches in Jersey in 2009.

Men's A team captain Michael Amstad said: "It was an absolutely amazing game. It's fantastic coming back a year later and beating them 3-0."

Julie Elmy, captain of Guernsey women's A, said: "We had the best game we've had in a long time, played as a unit, everybody just played superbly.

"The last few years against Jersey I think the games have all gone to five sets so for us to win in three was brilliant."

Men's A - Guernsey win 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22)
Ladies' A Guernsey win 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-23)
Men's B - Jersey win 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-16)
Ladies' B - Jersey win 3-0 (26-24, 25-12, 25-12)
