Wolves can turn it around - Evans

Chuck Evans
Chuck Evans admits the transition from player to coach has been tough

Worcester Wolves head coach Chuck Evans says he and his players are committed to turning things around after their poor start to the BBL season.

The Wolves have lost their opening three league games but Evans insists they are working hard to improve.

"Guys are coming in extra to work on things, to work on their weaknesses," Evans told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

The Wolves are bottom of the table but will hope for a better performance against Glasgow Rocks on Saturday.

Point guard Anthony Martin has already left the club, despite only signing for the Wolves a month ago, which has left Evans searching for a replacement.

"We're not sitting back just waiting for good things to happen, we're being pro-active to turn this around because we are all committed," he said.

The former Wolves player who joined as coach earlier this year following a season playing with Cheshire Jets and Everton Tigers, admits his introduction to coaching has been hard.

"It's tougher than I expected, but I feel like I'm ready for the transition from player to coach.

"We're starting a lot slower than I expected. I thought some of our better players would start up more and that hasn't happened yet but I have seen some glimpses of what I would be expecting.

"The quality is definitely there. It's just about bringing it to our game day performance," Evans added.
