Harker gave up the Wolves coaching role this season |
Worcester Wolves are without a win from their first three BBL games after going down at home to Sheffield and then losing on the road to Cheshire Jets. At Chester, Wolves went into an early lead at 16-9, but it was again the second quarter that proved the Wolves' undoing. They slumped to a 11-point deficit at half-time. Skouson Harker showed real determination, he had a fine game with 15 scored and 16 rebounds. As the third period unfolded the Wolves were fighting hard for their first league win of the season and closed the gap to three points at 61-58. But the experienced Jets went on to take the penultimate stanza 73-62. It was the same story in the fourth as the Wolves showed real determination and fighting spirit in the last quarter and again reduced the gap to three points at 73-70 with over seven minutes remaining. Harry Disy was relentless as he showed real glimpses of last season's free-flowing, athletic basketball with three baskets in succession but Cheshire weathered the storm. Wolves coach Chuck Evans has a lot to think about as he prepares his team for the next home game at the University of Worcester on Saturday against Glasgow Rocks.
