Former Wolves player Chuck Evans returned as coach in 2009
Worcester Wolves' new head coach Chuck Evans says his side have learnt from their mistakes before their first home game of the season.
The Wolves lost 94-81 to Milton Keynes Lions in their BBL Championship opener.
"It's important for us to learn from our mistakes and show our quality throughout the season," Evans told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
He hopes to put things right at home against Sheffield Sharks and away at Cheshire Jets this weekend.
"They're two teams that I feel we match up fairly well so we have an opportunity to improve ourselves and win some games this weekend and that's what we want to do," Evans said.
The coach admitted his side have been training a lot this week following their opening day defeat.
"I'm a little bit concerned that we might be training too hard, but it's a good thing."
His side revolves around a system of eight players that can play at any minute and he is positive they will make steady progress over the season.
"I watch the guys every day and I'm really positive about the strides that we're making and we need to show our fans that we can transfer that quality into a game like situation.
"I want quality and intensity each minute that they do on the floor. Hopefully that'll be our trademark this season; we want to play hard, play smart and play together," he said.
