Worcester Wolves have announced that former player Chuck Evans will be their head coach for the new BBL season. Evans, who spent a successful season with Wolves as a player in 2007/08, played for Cheshire Jets and Everton Tigers last season. The American is replacing Skouson Harker, who will stay on as a player. "Everyone has the same vision for the success of the team and the club as a whole, I'm delighted with the coaching opportunity given to me," Evans said. "The collaboration between the Worcester Wolves and the University of Worcester has enormous growth potential. We will utilise the resources provided for academic and athletic success. | I still have a great deal to offer on the court and believe that I can best serve the Wolves with a clearer focus on playing |
"The support system for the club is tremendous, from volunteers to back-office staff, and everyone has the same vision for the success of the team and the club as a whole." Harker has stepped down after being responsible for the sharp turnaround in 2007/08, which saw the Wolves finish in their highest position in the BBL. They also made the play-offs that season but Harker said he is keen to focus on playing. "I still have a great deal to offer on the court and believe that I can best serve the Wolves with a clearer focus on playing," he said. "I am still excited about leading the community and development coaching within the academy."
