Harriers' Penn on League ambition

Russ Penn
Penn still wants to test himself in the Football League

Kidderminster Harriers midfielder Russ Penn insists he is still determined to play in the Football League.

Speaking after appearing for England C at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night, Penn said he he been flattered by the reaction of the Oxford crowd.

"I have always had a decent game here," said 23-year-old Penn. "It's nice when they chant your name.

"Everyone always wants to play in the Football League and I'm no different, so let's see."

Penn is one of only a few players still under contract at Aggborough for next season.

Budget cutbacks mean that manager Mark Yates is facing the prospect of having to make wholesale changes to his squad.

Centre-back Mark Creighton has already made the move to Oxford United, while midfielder Andy Ferrell has also left after agreeing a move to York City.
