Evans has extensive experience of playing Basketball in Europe |
Newly-crowned BBL Cup winners Everton Tigers have signed point guard Chuck Evans until the end of the season. The 37-year-old American was a free agent after being released by local rivals Cheshire Jets last October. He signs following spells in Russia - where he won a league title with CSKA Moscow - Germany, Poland and Spain. Tigers head coach Tony Garbelotto has signed Evans as back-up to captain Richard Midgley as the Blues continue to fight on four fronts in BBL. Garbelotto said: "After a conversation with Tony Dorsey, it became apparent that Chuck was interested in coming back to England to finish his Masters course that he started at Worcester University last year. "We inquired to see if he would be able to continue with his studies as well as fulfilling his playing duties with us. "As soon as this was agreed, I felt it was a no brainer to bring him in as back-up for Richard Midgley at point guard," added Garbelotto.
