Missere played alongside Paternostro at Birmingham

Forward Phil Missere is the latest name to be added to the Leicester Riders roster for the 2008/09 season.

The 6ft 9in New Yorker briefly played alongside Riders coach Rob Paternostro at Birmingham last season.

Paternostro told the club website: "Phil is an athletic player who will give us flexibility on our front line.

"Whenever I have seen him play I have been impressed with how hard he plays and his ability to rebound at both ends of the floor."

The 25-year-old attended US college St John's University in New York before coming to the British Basketball League.

Riders have also resigned guard Mindaugas Janiska for a second season at the club.

The Lithuanian, 26, averaged more than nine points per game for last season.
