Paternostro was appointed Riders coach in June |
Leicester and Derby are to face each other on a basketball court for the first time in six years. Leicester Riders will take on Derby Trailblazers in a pre-season clash at home on 20 September and at Moorways Sports Centre the following day. Riders boss Rob Paternostro told the club website: "I think the fans will be excited to watch us compete with one of our historic rivals." The game was a regular fixture until Derby dropped out of the BBL in 2002. Paternostro said: "Pre-season games are very important for us to get a feel for each other and to be able to compete in a competitive game situation." The 35-year-old coach will now head to the United States for a final scouting trip as he looks to finalise his roster.
