Rain wrecks Gloucestershire hopes

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP Division Two, Cheltenham, day four (close) Gloucestershire 315 & 265-3 drew with Leicestershire 228
Gloucestershire 10 points, Leicestershire eight points

Rain thwarted Gloucestershire's hopes of securing their first County Championship win of the season against Leicestershire at Cheltenham.

The home side were well set at 265-3, but umpires Nigel Llong and Nick Cook called the game off at 4pm without a ball being bowled for the draw.

However, Division Two basement side Gloucestershire were docked two points from their 12 for a slow over rate.

Mid-table Leicestershire earned eight points for their endeavours.
