COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP Division Two, Cheltenham, day three (close) Gloucestershire 315 & 265-3 v Leicestershire 228Coverage: BBC website and local radio
Hamish Marshall helped Gloucestershire establish a significant 352-run second innings lead against Leicestershire after day three at Cheltenham. The former New Zealand batsman hit 83 as the home side reached 265-3 after dismissing Leicestershire for 228. Opener Will Porterfield (66) put on a 131-run second-wicket stand before he was caught behind off Nadeem Malik. But an unbeaten 98-run partnership between Marcus North (51) and Chris Taylor (50) kept the home side on top. Should Gloucestershire declare early in the morning session, it will give them their best opportunity to break their County Championship Division Two victory duck. Paceman Nadeem Malik was the pick of the visitors' bowlers, finishing with 2-54 from 17 overs.
