Top seeds Mariana Agathangelou and Heather Olver failed to retain their Irish Open title, losing to Maria Helsbol and Anne Skelbaek of Denmark. In a repeat of the 2009 ladies doubles final line-up, the Danes, seeded two, turned the tables with a 12-21, 21-12, 21-15 victory in 48 minutes. Jersey's Elizabeth Cann, the top women's seed in the singles, bowed out in the quarter-finals. She was beaten by Ireland's Chlose Magee 21-13, 21-17.
