Jersey's men's water polo team lost three of their four games in the opening round of the South East Championships. The islanders lost 17-10 to Invicta, 19-12 to Worthing and then went down 12-7 to Southampton. However, an 18-11 victory over hosts Basingstoke left Jersey lying fourth in the table. Jersey will host all these teams in March for the second and final round of the Championships. Captain Nat Snook told BBC Radio Jersey: "We have got a lot of work to do, but we now know what standard we need to be playing. "Hopefully, with a bit of commitment, we can overturn a couple of those results."
