Guernsey's Garry Dodd has taken the Channel Island Open Top 12 title, preventing Jersey's Craig Gascoyne from making it three wins in a row. Dodd edged fellow Guernseyman Ollie Langlois into second place, with Gascoyne in third spot. Gascoyne went into the tournament a point clear of his Guernsey rivals following the Jersey heats. But he failed to hold onto that advantage, losing against both Dodd and Langlois. Jersey Table Tennis Association president Chris Band told BBC Radio Jersey: "It was a great tournament. Congratulations to Garry, he was a worthy winner. "He [Gascoyne] did very well, he hasn't been playing in a lot of table tennis. "He's busy coaching and being a fantastic development officer. "We were hopeful, but the Guernsey lads have been playing a lot of competitive stuff on a regular basis, and that's how it proved in the end."
