Jersey won four of their seven matches in Cornwall |
Jersey just missed out on reaching the final of the Culdrose Navy water polo tournament, after winning three of their six round robin games. They had to be satisfied with a 5-3 3rd/4th play-off win against The Navy. The island started well with wins over Newquay and Barnstaple, but then lost their way, drawing with Basingstoke and losing to The Navy. They came back to beat Exeter, but lost their last group game 7-3 to eventual winners Swindon. Jersey lost out qualifying for the final by a goal difference of just one, which frustrated captain Nat Snook. "We had five goals disallowed during the day's play, which would have seen us through quite comfortably," he told BBC Jersey. "But to our credit we were undeterred and lifted our game, leaving us in a respectable third position behind Swindon and Exeter."
