Jersey's best shooters are aiming for a top finish at the 140th British Open in Surrey. Twenty eight members of the Jersey Rifle Association will be competing at the National Shooting Centre in Bisley, known as the home of high power and long range rifle shooting. Jersey's captain Bruce Horwood is looking forward to the challenge ahead. "We're all looking forward to the fickle Bisley winds and world-class competition," said Horwood. Jersey has a rich history of success in the sport and has produced the last two under-21 world champions as well as a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Jersey is taking a smaller squad than in recent years, but Horwood feels it has a good mixture of experience and young talent. "We have good record on the world stage and our objective is to ensure Jersey is the top overseas team."
