Jersey could meet Guernsey in the last eight of the National Trophy. |
Jersey needed a Stuart Ramskil golden goal to beat Bexleyheath & Belvedere 3-2 in the fourth round of the National Trophy on Sunday at Les Quennevais. The island side, playing a home game in this stage of the National Trophy for the first time in a decade, went behind to an early goal. But skipper Mark Dicker equalised on 14 minutes and six minutes later Ramskill made it 2-1. Bexley got an equaliser to take it into extra time before Ramskill ended it. "I think we were slow to start, which is something we need to work on. But once we turned ourselves on we actually started playing much better hockey than them," said skipper Bill Aston. "For the whole second half we controlled the pace of the game and I think the game completely," he added. Jersey could meet old rivals Guernsey in the last eight after they beat Sonning 3-1.
