Daniel Halksworth made it four in a row

Commonwealth and Island Games swimmer Daniel Halksworth won the 54th annual Jersey Swimming Club Castle to Harbour swim on Sunday.

In almost perfect conditions, Halksworth finished in a time of 20 minutes 42 seconds.

Fourteen-year-old Emma Glendening was the first female home, just 27 seconds behind Halksworth. She missed the women's record by only four seconds.

The win was Halksworth's fourth in a row, while it was Glendening's first.

Her time of 21.09 was the closest any female swimmer has come to Rebecca Wise's 1991 record of 21.05.

There were over 80 competitors in the two-kilometre race.

The fastest time ever recorded is 19 minutes 14 seconds, set by Nathan Jegou in 2003.
