Le Couilliard won 9 medals at the 2007 Island Games

Jersey swimmer Simon Le Couilliard says he feels he is returning to form.

The 21-year-old, who won nine medals at last year's Island Games, is swimming in the Australian National Championships in Perth.

Despite not yet qualifying past the preliminary heats, Le Couilliard, who is studying at university in Australia, feels he is getting back to his best.

He told BBC Radio Jersey: "I know I've the ability to compete with the best so I'll see what I can do in the future."

He added: "I'm hitting back to the form I was in about a couple of years ago."

"The standard here is out of this world, it's great to see what they're doing and you can take it back to your own training."
