Ebony Jacklin broke two Island records |
Jersey swimmer Ebony Jacklin broke two Island records in a marvellous weekend of swimming in Guernsey. On Saturday the 15-year-old AIB Tigers swimmer won the 100m freestyle in a Junior Island record time of 59.61 - breaking Natalie Bree's 2000 record. She followed this up on Sunday in the 50m freestyle where she removed Samantha Chaperon's 1995 time from the records with a new mark of 27.73. Jacklin told BBC Jersey: "I don't really know where the swim came from." "But it felt good in the water, and now I've got two national times, I'm really happy." Jacklin continued. Coach Paul du Feu said he was also pleased for her. "Ebony has been knocking on the door for a few seasons, but she came good this weekend." said du Feu.
