 Walker-Hebborn won Commonwealth bronze in 2010 |
The British 200-metre short-course backstroke record holder Chris Walker-Hebborn has joined Ellesmere Titans. As a junior, he managed six golds at the European and World championships, and won bronze for England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. The 20-year-old will swim for Titans in the National Arena League and other competitions, and help with coaching. "I'm delighted to join a team with such big ambitions, and with some exciting young backstroke swimmers," he said. "I know that my experience can really help make a difference to their future. I'm really looking forward to the challenge." Walker-Hebborn has become the latest top British swimmer to sign up for the Ellesmere College Titans elite swim programme. He joins Sydney and Athens Olympic finalist and British 50m breaststroke record holder Darren Mew, European Championship and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Stacey Tadd, Commonwealth Games finalist Jessica Dickons, and 200m butterfly specialist James Faure.
