Shrewsbury Town remain focused on top three - Sadler

Sadler is confident that Shrewsbury Town can win automatic promotion

Mat Sadler says Shrewsbury Town are still confident of securing automatic promotion from League Two despite dropping to fourth at the weekend.

Shrewsbury lost 3-0 at Aldershot, leaving them two points behind Bury and three off second-placed Wycombe.

"With five games to go, it's a five-game season - five big cup finals," the full-back told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"The pressure's building, but we're not looking at anything but third or second position and automatic promotion."

Shrewsbury, who now host struggling Stockport this Saturday, had won three on the trot before their weekend setback.

"It's been a strange pattern this season," said Sadler, "putting some good wins together before losing at places like Aldershot, and it can't continue.

"But we've got time to put what happened at Aldershot right.

"We'll come out fighting against Stockport and, with three games at home, we are geared up for promotion."
