Swindon Robins manager Ronnie Russell is backing his team to make the most of two home fixtures in quick succession.

The Robins face Peterborough on Thursday before Coventry are the visitors on Monday.

Russell sees the two fixtures as a crucial period after three wins and three losses so far this season.

"The two home meetings provide us with the perfect opportunity to send out a strong message to the Elite League," said Russell.

"I'm now looking for our 2010 campaign to move into the next gear.

"I wholeheartedly believe our squad is capable and possesses enough talent to challenge for honours this year."

For Thursday's meeting, Swindon track club number eight Justin Sedgmen in a reserve berth alongside Cory Gathercole. Sedgmen deputises for Thomas H Jonasson, whose is still serving a 28-day ban.

Grzegorz Zengota rides at two alongside Leigh Adams, Morten Risgaer slots in at three, Simon Stead assumes the number four role and Mads Korneliussen rides at five.

Peterborough field a strong side which includes former Robins rider Troy Batchelor, along with Danish internationals Niels-Kristian Iversen and Kenneth Bjerre.

"Thursday's meeting is a tough one, there is no doubting that," added Russell. "This is the kind of encounter where we must prevail and I'll be demanding a strong performance from the boys."
